SORRY BUT IF
YOU HAVEN'T FIGURED OUT BY NOW THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS FREE.
If an
insurance representative has told you that other shops don't charge for some
process on a repair and this is why they won't pay for it on yours, they are
simply not telling you the truth, it’s as simple as that. If you don't think so
look closely at your vehicle when it is done and see what other item or items they
didn't do to cover the cost of the items they did do. Remember also that an
agreement between a shop and the insurer cannot be applied to all shops as they
may have an agreement that involves referring work for a lower price to a shop
which can result in poor quality repairs. Though this practice may not be
illegal, it should be inspected thoroughly as to verify that all repairs are
done properly and completely. If a process needs to be completed then the
insurer must pay for it. The courts have supported this on many occasions as to
the cost and reasonableness of a repair.
